Can I contribute to my IRA for the previous year if it’s past 12/31?

Make prior year contributions in Altruist to max out your contributions for the year.

Yes, you can contribute to the previous year up until the tax deadline of the current year (usually around April 15th). In Altruist, when you add funds to your account, make sure to select “Prior” under contribution year. 

1. Go to “Add Funds”
2. Select the account you’d like to add funds to
3. Select the bank you want to add funds from
4. Under Contribution Year, select “Prior”
5. Fill out the rest of the deposit information
